What to expect

People co-funding sessions through Medicare (with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP or Psychiatrist) are able to access 6 sessions in the first instance plus potentially a further 4 sessions, following a GP or Psychiatry review. Other forms of funding are more varied and depend on each person's circumstances.

People often choose to meet fortnightly to begin with, although some prefer more frequent, weekly appointments in order to gain momentum. Some issues are resolved relatively quickly, sometimes after just a few sessions, while others can require more ongoing support, depending on the nature of the difficulty and the broader context of each person's life.  Whatever the specific details however, you will always be in charge of such decisions and we will endeavour to support you the best way possible.
